Insurance and cost for vein treatment: guidance and clear next steps

We accept most major health insurance plans in Hawaii, and we check your coverage before your visit, so you know what to expect.

Plans we accept

We accept most major health insurance plans. We aren’t able to accept Kaiser or UHA. Plans change often, so the quickest way to be sure is to call or text us at 808.538.1905 with your plan details.

When is vein treatment covered?

When vein disease causes symptoms such as pain, heaviness, swelling, cramping, or skin changes, treatment may be considered medically necessary. Coverage depends on your plan and clinical findings. Insurers commonly look for:

  • Symptoms that affect your daily life, such as aching, heaviness, swelling, or skin changes
  • An ultrasound that shows leaking valves (venous reflux)
  • For some plans, a trial period of prescription compression stockings first
  • For some plans, a referral or prior authorization

We help you through each step and check your coverage before your visit.

Cosmetic treatment

Treatment for spider veins alone is usually considered cosmetic, so insurance typically doesn’t cover it. Call or text us for current pricing.

What you’ll pay

Your cost depends on your plan’s copay, coinsurance, and deductible. Once we’ve checked your coverage, we’ll explain what to expect before treatment.

What to bring

  • Your insurance card and a photo ID
  • A list of your current medications
  • A referral, if your plan requires one
  • Compression stockings, if you already have them
